Mahjong Solitaire takes elements of traditional Chinese Mahjong, and Solitaire and blends them into a strategic tile matching game. It may be easy to learn, but it’s difficult to master!
The first step is to choose a layout. Layouts with more solitary stacks of tiles tend to be easier; while layouts with more overlapping tiles tend to be more difficult.
Now you are into the good stuff! Your goal is to remove every tile from the board by selecting pairs of identical tiles. When you find and select an identical pair, both tiles will disappear.
But wait, here’s the kicker! Only tiles that are "free" can be removed. A free tile has no other tiles lying on top of it, is not partially covered by other tiles, and either its left or right side is open.
Now you are ready to play! Keep in mind that you start the game with 4 of every tile. The order in which you remove these tiles is important, however! Make sure you don’t end up with stranded or inaccessible pairs.
